Sowing; Can be sown at any time of year except early to mid summer. Sow thinly on the surface of moist seed compost.  Do not cover the seed. Place in a propagator or seal in a polythene bag and maintain a temperature of 15-18C. Reducing the soil temperature at night aids germination which should start after 30 days, but can be erratic and could take several months. As the seedlings emerge, gradually increase ventilation by opening the bag or propagator vents.

Growing; Pot on when large enough to handle into 7-9cm pots and grow in cooler conditions. Overwinter if necessary in frost-free conditions, ie. greenhouse or insulated coldframe. In spring, gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions, before planting out when all risk of frost has passed, 50-60cm apart in a sunny or semi shaded position.

Caution: Can be an irritant to eyes & skin
