This is a superb cultivated strain forming compact, completely flat cushions which in early spring are absolutely smothered with countless thousands of dainty rosy-pink flowers virtually concealing the foliage. Growing to around 4” (10cm) in height this evergreen perennial enjoys both full sun and partial sun.

Germination; Sow in autumn for flowering the following spring or sow in spring for flowering the next year. Sow directly. Surface sow onto prepared soil which has been raked to a fine tilth. Light is needed for germination, do not cover seeds but press lightly into the soil. Germination time varies on sowing time and temperature but takes 6-12 days at 20°C. Thin seedlings to 20cm spacing, replant thinnings elsewhere in the garden.
Growing; Prefers a light, well-drained soil in full sun. Will not tolerate wet/cool soils. Will grow in partial or full shade with reduced flowering.
Cultivation; Cut back after the flowers fade in June this will ensure fresh growth and its compact shape. If untrimmed it will become untidy. Do not cut foliage in autumn or spring though as this will prevent flowering.
