Black Eyed Susan
This variety has a height of 60cm / 24 inches and a spread of 50cm / 18 inches. The flowers are deep golden yellow and 10cm wide. It is fully hardy in all areas of the UK.
 
Easily raised from seed, and succeeding in almost any soil and situation from semi-shade to full sun, is this very fine plant for the border, producing in August and September a profusion of golden-yellow flowers with a contrasting, almost black, central cone.     We happily accept returns within 14 days from date of delivery. All returns must be received in the same condition and packaging we sent them. Postage charges will not be refunded on unwanted products.

    Sow indoors. Sow seed onto moist well-drained seed compost. Just cover with a fine layer of vermiculite. Propagate +20°C. Keep soil moist but not wet. Germination takes 10-15 days. If there is no germination in 3-4 weeks cold stratify, move to -4°C-+4°C for 4 weeks then return to warmth. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle to 8cm pots. Grow on in cooler conditions. Acclimatise and plant out after danger of frost has passed with 45cm spacing.
